Darwin: mission under control

“December 27th, 1831, the Beagle casts off for a long trip around the world,” Jules Berries writes to his daughter Maddy. Aboard the Beagle, a young 22-year-old naturalist named Darwin pursues his greatest dream – to discover the world. Thanks to his observations along the way, Darwin comes up with new theories that displease many but that will shake the scientific world to its core. However, a few unexpected obstacles interrupt his research. Important elements start disappearing, a string of strange incidents occurs, and even the natural world seems to be lashing out! The crew decides that the ship is cursed and accuses Darwin of being the source of all their problems. Luckily, Jules (the narrator) and Victor, two 11-year-old cabin boys, befriend the odd young man and help him avoid all the traps laid out for him, as best they can…

This research will later be used as the basis for the theory of evolution. A seminal but risky journey…
