Internationally acclaimed astrophysicist, she serves as Director of the UN Office for Outer Space Affairs (UNOOSA) and is former Director of Human Spaceflight at ESA. NASA’s European expert for Mars exploration, she has led major global space programs and was knighted by the Italian President for her contributions to space science.
