Around Léon, the world is changing so fast that he closes the window curtains so as not to be disturbed. But his cat Bélinda is bored. One morning, she’s gone! Has she escaped through the window? Léon bends over and falls. He’s left to the hustle and bustle of the outside world. Meanwhile, Bélinda returns and with her some bulky companions who love… cat food. Oh no! Everybody out! While Léon finally finds his way home, happy to have discovered the joys of the world, Bélinda enjoys her inner rest. Curtain up! Until the next adventure…

An album full of humor and tenderness about a restless, routine character and his not-so-phlegmatic cat. As the pages turn, readers will have fun decoding the reversal of the situation through a succession of landscapes (visible through the window) inspired by the world of famous artists (Niki de Saint Phalle, Matisse, Seurat, etc.).

Éléa Dos Santos (author & illustrator)
Éléa Dos Santos was born in Fontainebleau. Trained in graphic design at the Ecole Supérieure d’Art et de Design in Orléans, she chose the path of children’s illustration, where she developed a world populated by colorful characters, sometimes shy, worried or curious. She uses their accidental encounters to talk about serious subjects in a gentle, poetic way. Her illustration work, in gouache or black stone, expresses her fantasy as much as the depth of her questions. Since 2020, she has been illustrating textile books for Éditions Allez-zou.
