This new big format edition, faithful to the original 1948 edition published by Paul Morihien, marks the 60th anniversary of Cocteau’s passing. It is part of a commemorative initiative by Éditions Grasset, which is also honoring his legacy through the publication of the Cocteau Library – Red Notebooks series.

The Author & Illustrator

Jean Cocteau (1889–1963), the famous poet, painter, and author of Les Enfants terribles and Les Parents terribles, was also a pioneer of graphic poetry. A funny household stands as a brilliant example of his innovative spirit in the genre.
