Algae

Algae are everywhere around us, and not just in the water! They can be found in our toothpaste, beauty products, food and even medicines. As well as being an essential link in the food chain, algae have many remarkable qualities.

The book ends with an identification guide to help young explorers recognise the different types of algae they may encounter.

Author & Illustrator

Pauline Payen (author): is a children’s journalist at Bayard Presse, where she writes for Youpi and Images Doc. She covers a wide range of non-fiction topics for young readers. She is the author of Forêts and Océans (Gallimard Jeunesse), as well as Mauvaises herbes, Champignons, Blob and Mousses (Panthera Editions). She lives near Paris, France.

Julie Michelin (illustrator): after her graphic novel L’Obsidienne Magnétite published by Éditions du Mégot, Julie Michelin released her first long-form graphic novel, Eksploracja, with Éditions de L’Employé du Moi. Her work unfolds in a colourful and poetic universe, exploring ecological themes. Julie lives in Douarnenez, Brittany, France.
