Eb and Flo – Beneath the Sand

Eb and Flo and their universe arose from a deep desire to create quality literature for the very youngest. Eb and Flo are two creatures with opposing temperaments – named as they are after the ‘Ebb’ and ‘Flood’ of the tide: One is on the surface a little bit stubborn, even and thoughtful … like the yellow sandy shore; the other is spontaneous, eager and changeable … like the blue sea. They live in a wooden hut on a sandbar. Around them is nature – the wild sky, the sandy shore and the depths of the sea, which hides much and much – anything can happen! In this book they argue if they should walk or swim – and then stumbles upon a third option.

Author & Illustrator 

Mette Vedsø – though originally graduated from university in chemistry, Mette Vedsø is now an award winning and acclaimed author of nearly 60 titles for children and youngsters.

Pia Halse – educated from The Danish Design School is one of the most artistically experimental illustrators Denmark has fostered for ages, specialised in picture books, but also a sought illustrator for magazines and newspapers, e.g. Süddeutsche Zeitung.
