A gallery of portraits of breasts that celebrates diversity, helps us accept ourselves and others, and opens dialogue about these parts of us under which our hearts beat.

Since the dawn of time, breasts have fascinated us, their representations filling our visual spaces. Measured and judged, they become objects of admiration or insecurity. So much so that they sometimes make us suffer, even from adolescence, because they rarely resemble the manipulated images in magazines or on screens — the “norm” that, in reality, does not exist. Every breast is unique. Whatever our age, it speaks of us, tells our story, reflects our life.

What if we desacralized and de-dramatized breasts to free ourselves from the weight they so often impose?
What if we looked at them with the kindness they deserve?

The term “nichonnées” refers to “strong” (or big) breasts: here the sense is diverted to speak of strong, proud, and free breasts, liberated from the corsets imposed by a world that preaches uniformity.

From childhood to old age, this playful and poetic book presents, on each double-page, a chest with a word, leaving room for interpretation and inviting exchange and expression.

Through meticulous work mixing collages, textures, and painting, Marion Cocklico uses stylized forms and bright, sometimes acidic colors to create a visual impact that is both poetic and graphic.

The text/image relationship gently, tenderly, and not without romanticism highlights the beauty of diversity — reconciling our differences, relearning to accept, love, and listen to our bodies and singularities at every stage of life.
