Iwona Chmielewska is a world-renowned Polish picture book author and illustrator whose touching, profound books have been translated into many languages and received numerous awards. Celebrated by readers and critics worldwide for her poetic and sensitive style, she has won the Golden Apple Award at the Biennial of Illustration Bratislava, is a three-time winner of the Bologna Ragazzi Award, and has been a multiple-time finalist for the Hans Christian Andersen Award — often called “the Nobel Prize of picture books.” She is the only Polish author to have a fan club in South Korea.
