“With Martha, our favorite walk was always the morning one.
We walked toward the sea to catch the first rays of sunlight.

 Often, we would stop at the bakery to buy a pastry.
We ate it together on the way back.

In winter, Martha dropped lots of crumbs into the hollow of her scarf.
In summer, they fell to the ground.

You could follow our trail just by looking at the little pieces of cake on the paving stones.
Like two urban Tom Thumbs.

I wish a path could take me back to yesterday morning.
To where the crumbs were still falling to the ground”.

Author & Illustator:

After training in academic drawing at the École Émile Cohl (Lyon), Morgane de Cadier turned toward her first passion: telling stories. Working primarily in gouache, she draws great inspiration from her plein-air painting notebooks, whose style can be found throughout her artwork.
