Sounds

Sounds surround us: loud and quiet, melodic and sharp, distant and close, familiar and unknown. The book Sounds invites readers to listen carefully to the amazing world of sounds, full of unusual facts and mysteries. We will hear the sounds of history and try to hear ourselves. We’ll find out what sound is and whether it’s possible to “see” just listenig, what sounds we can’t hear, how humans pronounce sounds, and who is the loudest singer of all.

About the author: 

Olga Fadeeva is a professional illustrator based in St. Petersburg and graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts (St. Petersburg). She has published 22 children’s books as an author and illustrator, including bestsellers and longsellers, with a total print run around 350,000 copies. Her bestselling title Kotofei was reprinted nine times (100,000), Snow Ball – six times (45,000). She collaborated with Japanese publisher Kaseisha and her books have been translated into English, German, Chinese, Italian and other languages.

Olga is a finalist of BIBF Ananas International Illustration Exhibition in Beijing (2020), in 2021 and 2022, she was shortlisted for Illustrators Exhibition organized by Bologna Children’s Book Fair.
