Marie-Jeanne Lapin receives an unusual gift from her grandfather: the promise that three companions will accompany her throughout her life.
Over the years, she meets Solitude, then Freedom, and finally Death. At first frightening, these visitors gradually become allies who help her grow and understand the cycle of life. A tender story about acceptance and the passage of time.
Through poetic storytelling, France Quatromme explores universal themes with great sensitivity: the passing of time, emancipation and the search for serenity. Jeanne Saboureault’s deep, luminous illustrations accompany this modern tale, which can be read and understood on many different levels.
A luminous tale about the major stages of life
Key selling points:
◊ A coming-of-age tale about the cycle of life and accepting the passage of time.
◊ Sensitive, thoughtful writing with great philosophical depth.
◊ A delicate visual world that enhances both the emotions and the meaning of the story.
